For background checks and criminal history reports, start with the Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC), which is the official repository for Vermont criminal conviction data. If you need a conviction report but don't require a notarized copy, you can use the Vermont Criminal Conviction Record Internet Service (VCCRIS) online. A name and date of birth are required, the fee is $30.00 per conviction report, and results are returned immediately.
